26 Nov India’s first savings account on WhatsApp made possible by AU BANK – A SUCCESS STORY
Newgen Digital onboarding
AU bank launched a service that allows for its prospective customers to open a savings account through WhatsApp. This helps AU bank to streamline the entire process on an interactive platform and to wipe out meticulous paperwork.
Customers can give a missed call to AU Bank’s official toll-free number to get started. This is considered as an opt-in from customer’s end and a message is initiated on WhatsApp. It is then a completely self-serve portal that allows users to verify Aadhar card details and upload required files all in one go to open a savings account. When this is done manually, it takes weeks together and involves fair amount of paper-work. Traditionally, there is a waiting time involved since customers need to gather all the required information beforehand and banks could take a day or two to provide account numbers to the user.
Karix deployed Twixor to help AU solve this predicament of balancing authentication with convenience to provide a secure, easy and quick process on the most popular channel where customers engage with peers and businesses – Whatsapp.
