Job Description

As a Documentation Head, you will be overall responsible in producing high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our product. You should be an expert in content strategy and has strong writing experience, a master in storytelling, with a passion for developing compelling and inspiring short and long form messaging to engage a target audience. We are looking for someone with relevant professional experience in writing complex documentation in an IT development environment or a technical start-up company. Working experience in documentation publishing software like Madcap Flare / Robo Help, Snagit would be preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead content strategy to position us as an expert in the industry and support our growth
  • Recommend and implement best practices for cohesive documentation across all mediums – in-product help, online support, product documentation, developer and implementation guides
  • Provide inputs to deliver easy-to-understand user interface text, online help, developer guides, implementation guides, product documentation, and API documentation
  • Copy writing and editing of content that support marketing programs, including e-books, reports, infographics, check lists, guides, executive overviews, blogs, emails, landing pages, customer cases, videos, promotional copy, and messaging briefs
  • Create tutorials to help our customers easily use our product and boost adoption
  • Collaborate with product marketing and campaigns teams to create content that aligns to the messaging framework and differentiates us from competitors
  • Manage relationships with cross-functional teams, external agencies, and third-party content creators and providers
  • Utilize feedback from internal teams and customers to continuously improve documentation; manage updates and revisions to all documentation
  • Create and maintain information architecture

Job Requirement

  • 10+ years of experience in technical writing for enterprise software products, preferably for B2B SaaS products
  • Experience managing customer facing documentation portals/platforms with a strong working knowledge of Adobe RoboHelp, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Confluence etc
  • Experience developing in-product help documentation, tutorials as well as traditional online/print product documentation
  • Able to delivery high quality documentation paying attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Experience maintaining content repository, optimizing content development to maximize reuse and minimize maintenance/duplication
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Engish
  • Excellent listening, presentation, organizational and communication skills
  • Nice to Have: Experience creating developer, implementation and administration guides
  • Nice to Have: Familiarity with API documentation for REST/SOAP APIs
  • Location: Bangalore or Chennai, India
